Our coat closets are full of trenches, peacoats, and parkas. Those are the classics. But what outerwear trend is storming stores this season? If you've been keeping your eyes peeled, you've noticed that puffer jackets are everywhere. High fashion brands like Moncler, Balenciaga and Stella McCartney (and more) introduced the trend and few seasons ago. And now the downy, cozy puffers are available everywhere, from Nike to H&M and Uniqlo. Now, don't cringe and automatically think "Randy from A Christmas Story." When styled correctly, puffers are chic and sophisticated. More importantly, they come in a million colors, lengths, with or without fur, in many different weights, and they come in every price range. You're bound to find the perfect one if you search long enough. Or if you'd like a stylist to find one for you, you can book an appointment and have them do all of the heavy lifting. I've done a bit of research for you, so you can picture what the style would look on you. Everyone needs an easy daytime classic every once in awhile. And if your personal aesthetic leans towards sportswear, puffer jackets are going to be your new go-to. You open your closet to loads of beautiful clothes, and you still feel like you have nothing to wear. Whether the word to pinpoint this feeling is "uninspired" or "frustrated," having a few outfit formulas in your arsenal is an easy fix to this problem. Outfit formulas are literally formulas that you can use time and time again, with different pieces in the same cut and construction. i.e., this kind of top plus this kind of pant and this kind of shoe equals this easy outfit. The key to finding an outfit formula that works for you is to base it around a part of your body that you love. Like to show off your smile? Go for a statement necklace to draw attention upward. Prefer a plunging neckline? Opt for wrap tops or deep v-necks. Here are two very common formulas that work on many different body types, and for all sorts of occasions. If you have any questions or would like to see different options, feel free to comment below and I'll make sure to cover it in the next blog post! minimalist cool girlplunge top + high waisted jeans + flats Boohoo black jeans | Nike sneakers | H&M chokers | Dondup jumpsuit | Boohoo black plunge top | Topshop white jeans | Senso boots | French Connection Jacket | French Connection crossbody desk-to-drinksday-to-night dress + heels + statement jewelry (out for drinks)
Maybe you're a winter person. But if you're anything like me, you can't wait to lounge in the sun and not have to worry about trudging through snow and slop. While you're dreaming of drinking pretty drinks on a beach somewhere, take some time to window shop for some luxe slides. Or maybe, actually shop. Slides are the new black. Or the new sandals. Or flats. Or whatever. About a year ago they were a trend that we lusted after on street style Instagram accounts and runways. But now they're more affordable and attainable than ever. They provide the ease of the flip flop with the luxurious style of a pump. Pair them with culottes, skirts, cuffed or raw edge jeans, or even shorts when styled the right way. Dress them up or down. Invest in a high quality slide or go with a trendy cheapie. However you want to wear them, hopefully these boards serve as a bit of inspiration. daytime casualZara black and white slides | RAYE tassle slides | Barneys New York red sandal slides | Topshop white blouse | Mango jeans | Topshop skirt | Lizzie Fortunato earrings | Furla bag | French Connection sweatshirt | Shashi Mackenzie choker | Her Curious Nature headband dressed up |
